Cattle in BarnThe herd is predominantly Holstein, some of which are registered. All cows and calves are being identified with Holstein Association eartags. This puts us ahead of the curve on national identity.

The cows are mated by Select Sires. This allows our A.I. technicians to quickly and accurately inseminate our cows. As the cows near their due date, they are placed in calving pens bedded with sawdust. This ensures that all herd replacements get off to a healthy start.

The health and comfort of the cows are the two most important components to making any dairy successful. Since the nutritional needs of a cow are constantly changing as she moves through lactation, energy and protein are very important nutrients that need to be monitored. Because of this, we use a qualified nutritionist and modern technology to ensure the cows are getting all the nutrients they need. For the cows' comfort, we have placed the latest cooling systems in each barn. In the winter, the barns are closed up using curtains.
